Letter from John Hogarth

John Hogarth, founder of Summit Airport Services and North Coast Air Care began his aviation career in 1975 when he joined the US Air Force and was made a crew chief on the F4D fighter jets. After completion of his service he started working line service at Air Camis at the Akron Canton Airport. Pumping gas during the day, he would work at night with the sheet metal repairman and other evening mechanics in order to gain experience working on General Aviation Aircraft. After being promoted to mechanic at Air Camis, and ten years service, John went over to the new FBO across the field as Service Manager. In 1989 he started his own company, North Coast Air Care, LLC and specialized in Cheyenne's, King Airs and Citations.

Tony's career in aviation began in the United States Navy. He served as an F/A-18 avionics technician for the "Fighting Lobos" of VFA-305, functioning primarily as a flight deck troubleshooter. After completing his enlistment, Tony worked for several northeast Ohio FBOs learning the business of General Aviation before landing at Summit Airport Services where he serves as the FBO & Airport Manager.

After more than twenty years of service within the aviation community, Tony has developed a keen awareness for the expectations of today’s GA customer. He and his staff are looking forward to serving all of your needs.

Ken Gohlke, Director of Maintenance

Ken has been with North Coast Air Care since 2002. He graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 2002 and was a graduate of Manchester High School in 2000. Ken has a broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft and is an expert with Citation platforms. He is a skilled aviation inspector with detailed understanding of airplane mechanics. Part of his duties are to coordinate maintenance department planning with aviation management staff while providing efficient and timely scheduling of maintenance and repair. Ken fully understands and ensures compliance with Manufacturer Service Instructions, Service Bulletins and FAA Airworthiness Directives. Ken lives in Canal Fulton with his wife and three children. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2000.

Julie Hogarth,  Vice President

Julie Hogarth is an artist, administrator and retired educator with 30 years of  teaching experience with Akron Public School.   She graduated from the University of Akron with a BFA in Graphic Design.  She has taught with the Ohio Stem Learning Network, Akron Art Museum, and many specialty workshops for educators.  This experience enables her to work with North Coast and Summit in a marketing, human resources, and management position.  Her work supports the business in many fashions as we have grown into the only maintenance and FBO in the city of Akron.
